Dr. Akinwumi Ajayi is an astute professional with about 20 years’ experience cutting across banking, media & advertising, telecoms and consulting. He is the Lead Consultant at Valuport Limited and also the Chief Operating Officer at Safari Telecoms Ltd. He has been involved in diverse project management and trainings for Clients in the Telecoms, Banking, Media & Technology and Legal sectors of the Nigerian economy. Prior to this, he was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of NTS Nigeria Limited.
Prior to his sojourn in the Telecoms sector, he was in banking for about a decade working in three banks. He led the Power & Infrastructure Team of Zenith Bank Plc where he was involved in detailed packaging and analysis on Credits for the Bank’s Corporate Customers. He also ensured detailed financial analysis and assessment of the financial information records of companies (including Cash-flow Analysis, KPI analysis playing in the Infrastructure sector to determine their meeting of our Risk Asset Criteria.
A fellow (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Akin holds an M.Sc. in Financial Management from the University of East London, and also an MBA from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. He bagged a Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Business Management with specialization in Corporate Governance from Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Nigeria. His research interests includes board diversity, ethics, compliance, leadership, organizational structure as well as corporate governance. He is amongst others Member, Chartered Management Institute (MCMI) and Associate Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (AMNIM).
He is a thorough professional with strong experience in Management, Project Management & Finance, Accounting, Corporate Finance, Risk Management & Relationship Management.Akin has facilitated for various companies and spoken at various seminars, retreats and trainings across many sectors of the economy including Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, First Bank of Nigeria Plc and Cooperative Mortgage Bank via Wright & Co. Ltd. Others include – Safari Telecoms Group, MYD Telecoms Limited, Bumarog Integrated Services Limited, OAC Law Chambers, Law Corporates amongst very many others.
In addition to his publication in several national dailies, he has also published several research articles in his area of interest including but not limited to;
He is a director in many companies including Stimulating Solutions and Resources Ltd, Briskville Limited, Consolidated Energy Resources Limited and Zanders Collezioni. Akin brings to bear his immense practical experience at the board and C-Levels garnered both in Nigeria and abroad to this assignment. Dr. Ajayi is happily married with Children.
